About Me/ Company
I finished a very busy year in 2019 and have spent 4 months in New Zealand from the end of 2019 to the beginning of 2020. housesitting, cat sitting and looking after 3 rescue dogs, 3 elderly rescue cats and 2 rescue rabbits in connection with a leading animal charity. I have also been involved in a pilot scheme introduced by the same leading charity feeding and rearing abandoned kittens before they are ready to be re-homed. I am based in the East Midlands, but I do overnight sitting in most parts of the UK. I am a mature lady and have been an animal lover all my life.
I have had experience of looking after 2 Devon Rex's, 2 Bluepoint Persian cats, 2 Maine Coons, a rag doll, a British Blue, Devon Rex's an Italian white, 2 marmalade shorthairs, 5 black long hairs and a black Hemingway cat, 2 silver tabbies, 1 tabby long hair, 2 tabby short hairs, 1 bi-coloured short hair, 1 bi-coloured long hair and 1 tortoiseshell and white long hair and 1 tortoishell and 1 whlte short hair. All of all ages from various backgrounds. The oldest cat I have looked after was 21 years of age, who sadly passed away recently. My brother had two sphynx cats and my nephew had Bengalese, so I'm used to be being in the company of cats.
Previous Experience
I also cat sit for a young cat who was run over by a car. After major surgery, he has recovered, and he has to take medication three times a day.
I once looked after two rescue cats who had been
mistreated in the past. They had been kept inside for the initial two weeks, and were allowed to wander just as my booking began for a long weekend. The owner also had a dog who had been very territorial, since the arrival of the two cats. They were also unused to one another, and, to make it worse, it was bonfire weekend. I soothed them and managed to get them settled during a very noisy weekend with fireworks.
By the time Sunday evening came, I was 'the cat who sat on the mat' in front of the fire, and they were curled up next to one another on an armchair. It was very rewarding to have achieved that.
