About Me/ Company

Hello,

My name is Lara, a creative entrepreneur and designer of her own start up company based in London.

I would like to offer a cat sitting service to cat owners who are in need due to work commitments, holidays or simply for unforeseen circumstances that prevent them to look after their furry pets. I am an extremely independent, energetic, trustworthy and honest individual and I can provide references if required.

Originally from Italy, I came to the UK in 1999 for my university degree, after which I decided to make London my forever home. As a child, I have been educated to respect and love all animals. Every member of my family is an animal lover and we have always fought for tackling animal abuse, neglect and cruelty. My father was accustomed to take back to our house injured animals found in the street or when going for walks in our countryside. For years we managed to nurture back to health stray cats, two hedgehogs, a squirrel, pigeons, a bat, budgies and a sparrow chick which felt off its nest during a storm. I have learnt to understand animals’ behaviour and the way they communicate to us, and thanks to my upbringing, I speak up for their welfare and rights by supporting charities and signing petitions. There is no comprehension in my ethic for abuse and neglect, and I will fight up until laws are tougher and punish perpetrators in the same way that they would be punished if they would commit the same crime towards humans.

I am a true believer in pets’ healing powers towards us. They can heal our soul, our body and mind, like no other human companion would do. I have always had cats around me, so I have nurtured a particular love and bond with felines, which I adore immensely. I am currently sharing a flat with other two humans and an adorable tortoiseshell called Lula, who offers her company to my busy days in my home office. Despite being a very feisty, independent cat, we have established a special bond and we look for each other all the time. Knowing that she is around gives me a sense of stability and peacefulness.

Due to her presence in our home, I am afraid I am not able to foster or look after other pets in my premises. I am however, happy to visit you and look after your cat(s) prior arrangements.

* As cat sitting is not my main occupation, I would advise to contact me and inform me of your needs and times during which you need me to look after your cat. Thanks to my freelance status, I am very flexible with my time and I would be interested in hearing from owners who need regular days/evening visits, as well as ad hoc needs such absence due to holidays or other circumstances. Based in North East London but willing to travel anywhere within zone 1-6. Hourly rate depending on travel destination and time of day - if require to cat sit during the night, my rate would be of £ 15/hour. Sitting arrangements and hourly rate to be discussed and agreed in writing via email.
